This is a sweet Chenin Blanc from Moulin Touchais, made in the Coteaux du Layon appellation of the Loire Valley and from the 1997 vintage.
Moulin Touchais wines typically carry between 70 and 80 grams of residual sugar per litre. The 1997 harvest is regarded as one of the best of its decade, and the wine shows an exotic richness, a fine texture and flecks of botrytised character.
