Mouton Cadet Réserve Sauternes 2022 (75cl, 13%)

This is the 2022 Réserve Sauternes from Mouton Cadet, a sweet white wine of golden-yellow colour in a 75cl bottle. It is made from 80% Sémillon, 15% Sauvignon Blanc and 5% Muscadelle. The Ciron river and the autumn mists it brings encourage Botrytis cinerea, the noble rot that concentrates the aromas and natural sweetness of the grapes. On the nose there are ripe white fruit such as peach and mirabelle, with aniseed, a touch of honey, candied orange zest and warm spice. The palate is juicy and full, with apricot jam and light caramel, and the sweetness is balanced by freshness through the finish.
