Murray McDavid Aultmore 15 Years Old PX/Oloroso Sherry & Amarone Benchmark (51.4%)

A 15 year old single malt from Aultmore, bottled by Murray McDavid as a Benchmark release. It was distilled in 2008 at the distillery near Keith in Speyside. After initial maturation in bourbon hogsheads, the whisky was finished in first-fill Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks together with Amarone wine casks. It was bottled in spring 2024 at a natural cask strength of 51.4% ABV, with natural colour and no chill filtration. The outturn is 1,127 bottles. The sherry and Italian red wine casks are described as adding sweet dark fruit and depth to the distillery's orchard-fruit style, alongside rich, spiced oak.
