Nelson Brothers Reserve is a blended straight bourbon, bottled at 53.9% in a 750ml bottle. It is assembled from selected bourbon barrels from Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana, with an average age of six to seven years, and the mashbill is high in rye, built on corn, rye and malted barley.
The brand was revived by brothers Andy and Charlie Nelson, who reopened the Nelson's Green Brier Distillery in Nashville.
The nose is dark cherry and maple syrup with sweet mint and cinnamon roll. On the palate come caramel, baked cherry, allspice and hazelnut, and the finish is long, with cocoa, cherry cobbler and baked apple pie.
