Nelson's Green Brier Sour Mash Whiskey is a Tennessee whiskey in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 45.5% ABV. It comes from a Nashville distillery revived by descendants of Charles Nelson, whose family recipe dates to the late 1800s.
The mashbill is corn, rye and malted barley. The spirit is mellowed through sugar maple charcoal, aged for two to five years in new charred oak barrels and left non-chill-filtered.
The nose offers caramel, vanilla, cinnamon and baked apple. The palate brings coffee, caramel-sweet corn, brown sugar and toasted nuts, with a touch of cocoa. The finish is long and warming, with cinnamon, Gala apple and dark cherry, closing dry and spicy.
