Nelson's Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey revives the wheated mash bill recipe of Charles Nelson, whose Green Brier Distillery was among the largest whiskey producers in the United States before Prohibition. Andy and Charlie Nelson recovered the recipe and reopened the distillery in Nashville in 2014.
The spirit is filtered through sugar maple charcoal in the Lincoln County Process, then aged in new charred oak barrels. It comes in a 750ml bottle.
The nose is soft grain, light vanilla and caramel, with a clean charcoal character. The palate is smooth and round, with caramel, vanilla and gentle oak, and the finish is clean and medium in length, with lingering sweetness.
