Ragtime is a Bottled in Bond straight rye whiskey from New York Distilling Co., distilled in Brooklyn and bottled at 50% ABV, or 100 proof, in a 75cl bottle. The grain bill is over 75% rye. Bottled in Bond means it comes from a single distillation season at one distillery and has spent at least four years in full-sized barrels. The name nods to the syncopated jazz style that took hold in New York in the early twentieth century. The nose is spicy, with clove, black tea, leather and citrus peel. On the palate come caramel, cracked pepper, toasted rye bread and dried fruit, followed by a long, dry, spicy finish.
