Garrison Brothers – Single Barrel Cask Strength Oloroso Sherry Cask Finish Bourbon (75cl, 63.4%)

A Texas wheated bourbon from Garrison Brothers, bottled from a single barrel at 63.4% ABV (126.8 proof), uncut and unfiltered. The mash bill is 74% Panhandle white corn, 15% soft red winter wheat and 11% two-row malted barley. It spent four years in new American oak, then four more in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks, eight years in all. Master Distiller Donnis Todd set aside 13 Oloroso barrels from the original Ranch Reserve production set for individual release. The nose is walnut, fig and baking spice with savoury sherry notes. The palate brings dried fig, toasted walnut, oak and layered spice, and the finish is lingering oak with nutty richness and dry sherry.
