Nikka – Black Rich Blend Japanese Whisky (70cl, 40%)

Nikka Black Rich Blend is a Japanese blended whisky in a 70cl bottle at 40% ABV. It combines light grain whisky with selected malts from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. It is a malt-led, unpeated blend with a silky texture, and Nikka was founded by Masataka Taketsuru, who learned whisky-making in Scotland before bringing its methods to Japan in the 1930s. The nose offers ripe peach, honeycomb and vanilla cream with a little malt. The palate is silky and mellow, with caramel, soft fruit, biscuit and a hint of cocoa. The finish is smooth, with lingering sweetness and faint wood spice.
