Nikka Coffey Malt is a Japanese malt whisky distilled in a Coffey still, a type of still normally used for grain whisky. Nikka's Coffey stills were imported from Scotland in the 1960s. It is made from malt only, with no grain and no blending.
The nose is soft vanilla, light caramel, warm biscuits, tropical fruit and a little honey. The palate is round and full-bodied, with butterscotch, milk chocolate, apricot and light spice, and a creamy texture. The finish is long and slightly spicy, with sweet oak and a hint of toffee.
