Nikka – Coffey Malt Whisky (70cl, 45%)

Nikka Coffey Malt is a Japanese whisky bottled at 45% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Nikka developed it in 2013, as part of its ongoing experiments to widen the range it offers. It is made from 100% malted barley and distilled in a Coffey still, then matured in old casks. The aim is to bring out a rich maltiness, complexity and a silky texture. Because it is not distilled in a pot still, it is classed as a grain whisky rather than a malt whisky, despite the name.
