Nikka – From The Barrel Japanese Whisky (75cl, 51.4%)

A Japanese blended whisky made from a mix of malt and grain whiskies, bottled at 51.4% ABV in a 75cl-style short, squared bottle that Nikka likens to a small lump of whisky. After blending, the whisky is left to marry in used casks for three to six months, which allows the strong, flavour-rich components to settle together. The nose is vanilla bean and corn with a hint of chamomile. On the palate come sweet melon, grapefruit and maple syrup, balanced by crunchy biscuit and fresh vanilla. The finish is sweet, vibrant and long.
