A Japanese blended malt from Nikka, named in honour of Masataka Taketsuru, who trained in Scotland and founded the company in 1934. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
The blend draws on malts from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, both peated and unpeated, and includes a portion aged in sherry casks. Maturation is in a combination of sherry butts, bourbon barrels and new American oak.
It is described as gentle in malt flavour, fruity and well balanced.
