Nikka – From The Barrel (50cl, 51.4%)

Nikka From The Barrel is a Japanese blended whisky first released in 1985, in a 50cl bottle at 51.4% ABV. It was developed to give the full flavour and richness of whisky as a blender would taste it straight from the cask. Its character is put down to complex blending, the higher strength and a marrying process. The nose is medium-bodied and balanced, with cut flowers, fresh fruit, spice and a little oak. The palate is full and punchy, with winter spice, toffee, caramel, vanilla and plenty of fruit. The finish is long and warming, with fruit and a little oaky spice.
