Nikka Nine Decades 90th Anniversary Limited Edition (70cl)

Nikka Nine Decades is a blended whisky made to mark the 90th anniversary of Nikka Whisky, which Masataka Taketsuru founded in 1934. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The blend draws on whiskies distilled across nine consecutive decades, from the 1940s, including Yoichi malt distilled in 1945, to the 2020s. More than 50 batches from six distilleries are used: Yoichi, Miyagikyo, Ben Nevis malt from Scotland, and grain whisky from the closed Nishinomiya, Moji and Satsuma distilleries. The nose shows antique furniture polish, apple pie, raisins, dark chocolate and cinnamon, with a little old peat smoke. The palate brings maple syrup, roasted coffee, dried figs and nuts, and the finish is long, with dark cocoa, oak and soft campfire smoke.
