Black Nikka Special is a blended Japanese whisky from Nikka Whisky Distilling Co., in a 720ml bottle at 42% ABV. It is often called 'Bearded Black' after the design of its label.
In the glass it is golden amber with a slightly oily texture. The nose offers vanilla, caramel and a hint of smoke, with apple and pear. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with vanilla, oak, dark chocolate, nuts and spice, and no single note dominates. The finish is long and warm, with a slightly peppery edge that fades into sweet oak.
