Nikka Pure Malt Black is a blended malt whisky based primarily on malt from Yoichi Distillery. It belongs to the Pure Malt series introduced in 1984, with Yoichi's direct coal-fired distillation contributing to its savoury, smoky character.
Honey, vanilla and caramel meet apple, cherry and charred aromas on the nose. The palate moves from malty sweetness towards bitterness, spice and smoke, with a little apple along the way. Gentle peat and caramel sweetness remain through a medium-length finish.
