Nikka Tailored Japanese Blended Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Nikka Tailored is a Japanese blended whisky, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The blend is made mainly from malt whisky from the Miyagikyo distillery on Honshū and the Yoichi distillery on Hokkaidō, together with grain whisky from a Coffey still. It is meant to show the balance, roundness and softness associated with Nikka. The nose is soft and fruity, with apple, apricot, white-fleshed fruit and honey, plus hints of chocolate and candied orange peel. On the palate, vanilla and kouglof pastry sit beside a gentle bitterness of dark chocolate and mandarin and orange peel. Lightly roasted notes keep that bitterness in balance in the finish.
