Nikka Tailored is a blended Japanese whisky at 43%, in a 70cl bottle. It was released in 2019 to replace the Nikka 12 Year Old. Nikka was the life's work of Masataka Taketsuru.
The nose is elegant, with apple, pomegranate and banana alongside sandalwood, honey and coconut, plus a gentle herbal touch of aniseed and fennel. The palate is creamy, with a faint hint of wood smoke, malt, dark caramel, chocolate, teak, orange liqueur and a touch of liquorice. The finish is fairly short, with lingering oak giving way to sweet, honey-like notes.
