Nikka Taketsuru 17 Year Old is a Japanese blended malt made from malts selected from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries. It is named after Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka, and is aged for a minimum of 17 years.
It was named World's Best Blended Malt Whisky at the 2014 World Whiskies Awards.
The nose offers raisins, honey, marmalade, oak, dried fruits and gentle spice. The palate is full-bodied, with dark berries, blood orange, chocolate, warming spice and subtle peat, and the long finish carries vanilla, cocoa, oak and lingering fruit.
