Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt 17 Year Old is a Japanese blended malt bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is named after Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky. In 1918 Taketsuru travelled alone to Scotland to learn how whisky is made. He studied chemistry at the University of Glasgow and apprenticed at three Scotch distilleries, and his two notebooks of detail became Japan's first guide to whisky production. The whisky is described as having a mellow, well-rounded nose and palate, with a subtle aroma of peat that builds over time.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
