Nikka – Taketsuru Pure Malt

A blended malt from Nikka, named after the company's founder, Masataka Taketsuru. It marries malt whisky from Nikka's two distilleries, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, all made from 100 per cent malted barley. Maturation draws mainly on ex-sherry casks and remade American oak casks. The nose is fruity with orange, grapefruit and juicy pear, along with herbal and lightly peaty notes. The palate is round and malty, with cardamom spice and candied fruit. The finish is long, fruity and bitter, with citrus, dark chocolate and a little peat.
