Nikka The Frontier Japanese Blended Whisky (50cl, 48%)

Nikka The Frontier is a Japanese blended whisky, first released in Japan in 2024. It is built on the peated single malt of the Yoichi distillery and has a malt content of 51%, bottled at 48% ABV in a 50cl bottle without chill-filtration. The name nods to the pioneering spirit of Masataka Taketsuru, founder of Nikka Whisky, who studied whisky making in Scotland in the early twentieth century and brought that knowledge home to Japan. The label and box are in bright orange. On the palate it is fruity with marmalade notes, malty sweetness and a gentle smokiness, joined by soft, lightly sweet oak.
