A Japanese blended whisky from Nikka, released in 2025 as a limited edition. It draws on a Yoichi 1989 from a Mizunara cask, a Miyagikyo 1979 from a Mizunara cask and Ben Nevis from casks of the 1980s.
The release marks a change at Nikka, as Junji Iseki takes over as chief blender. He chose the whiskies together with the previous chief blender, Hiromi Ozaki, to reflect both of their careers.
The nose is peaty with a fresh sea breeze, caramelised crème brûlée, roasted sesame oak and green bamboo. The palate balances fruity sweetness with gentle bitterness, and the finish is long, between soft peat and dried fruit sweetness.
