This is a premium blended whisky from Nikka in Japan, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. The blend is 70% malt whisky from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, with grain whisky made in a Coffey still. Yoichi is on Hokkaido and Miyagikyo on Honshu, so the malt side brings together two distinct distillery characters. The nose is apple and apricot with honey and candied orange peel. The palate recalls vanilla and freshly baked Gugelhupf, with a faint bitterness of dark chocolate and mandarin zest. The finish balances toasted notes with lasting fruit.
