Nikka The Nikka Tailored (70cl, 43%)

The Nikka Tailored is a Japanese blended whisky bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It combines single malts from Nikka's Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries with a touch of Coffey grain whisky. Yoichi malt contributes backbone and a little smoke, while Miyagikyo adds fruit and floral notes. The grain whisky binds the blend together. The blend pays tribute to Nikka's founder, Masataka Taketsuru. The nose has orchard fruit, honey, soft vanilla, citrus peel and gentle oak, with floral hints. On the palate come apple, pear, caramel, light spice and malt, with touches of chocolate and dried fruit. The finish is long and clean, with honeyed malt, fruit and oak.
