Nikka – Whisky From the Barrel (50cl, 51.4%)

Nikka From the Barrel is a Japanese blended whisky bottled at 51.4% in a 500ml bottle. It was made to give the full flavour and richness that blenders find when they taste whisky straight from the cask. After blending, the whisky goes back into used barrels for a few more months of marriage before bottling. The bottle is shaped to suggest a small block of whisky. The nose is medium-bodied and balanced, with cut flowers, fresh fruit, spice and a little oak. The palate is full-bodied, with toffee, winter spices, caramel, vanilla and plenty of fruit. The finish is warming and long, fruity with a little oaken spice.
