Nikka Yoichi Single Malt 10 Year Old

This is a 10 year old single malt from Yoichi, Nikka's first distillery, on the coast of Hokkaido, the northernmost island of Japan. The distillery still uses methods from the past, including direct coal heating. The whisky is described as having coastal and peat notes with Yoichi's original smokiness. The ten years of maturation add a round character, alongside distinctive peat, well-balanced woody notes and delicate herbal ones.
