A single cask Japanese rum from Nine Leaves, distilled in 2018 and bottled at a cask strength of 59% vol. without chill-filtration. It matured in Spanish oak.
The nose is led by saffron and cardamom, with ripe figs and chestnuts beneath. On the palate it is soft for its strength, with pine resin and burnt sugar over an earthy texture. The finish is long and aromatic, with cedar wood and a touch of turmeric that recalls a balanced spiced tea.
It is best taken neat at room temperature, with a little time in the glass to open up.
