Diplomático Rum Reserva Exclusiva is a Venezuelan rum produced at Distilerías Unidas S.A. in Cojedes. It is molasses-based, fermented with wild yeast strains and distilled in a combination of column and pot stills. The rum is aged in ex-bourbon American oak barrels, with selection and marrying of rums aged up to 12 years or more. It is bottled at 40% ABV. The nose offers molasses, butterscotch, caramelized sugar, dried figs, raisin, vanilla, toasted coconut, orange zest and clove. The palate is velvety with toffee, brown sugar, dark fruit, molasses, honey, warm spices, candied citrus peel, oak tannin, dark chocolate and roasted nuts.
