Germana Caetano's Cachaça (1L, 40%)

An artisanal Brazilian cachaça produced by Cachaça Germana on the family farm Vista Alegre in Nova União, Minas Gerais. Sugarcane is hand-harvested without burning, pressed the same day and fermented in open-air vessels for about 24 hours. Distillation is performed in direct-fire copper pot stills using sugarcane bagasse as fuel. After initial maturation of 6 to 12 months in steel or neutral vessels, the spirit is aged for 2 years in umburana wood casks. Golden in colour, it has tropical fruits, sweet orchard notes, fresh cane, delicate umburana wood aroma, grassy and herbal notes on the nose. The palate is soft and smooth with matured wood flavours, tropical fruit tones, subtle spice, balanced sweetness and gentle herbaceous character, leading to a delicate, clean finish with herbal echoes, gentle wood notes and lingering fruit.
