This is a 5 year old single barrel rye, bottled at cask strength without cutting or filtering, so the strength differs from barrel to barrel. The spirit was distilled at MGP in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, from a mash of 95% rye and 5% malted barley.
It was aged for four to six years in new charred American oak. Prohibition Craft Spirits of Louisville, Kentucky, then finished it for one to four weeks in freshly toasted barrels and bottled it. It is non-chill filtered.
The flavour is led by rye spice with cinnamon, clove and mint, set against toasted oak, caramel and vanilla. The palate is full and oily, with brown sugar and baking spice, and the finish is long, warm and peppery.
