Oban 14 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky, matured for 14 years in oak casks beside the harbour at Oban. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle and belongs to Diageo's Classic Malts series.
The distillery was established in 1794 and has just two stills, which makes it one of the smallest in Scotland.
The nose is sea spray, orange zest and dried fig with light smoke and oak spice. The palate is rich and slightly oily, with honeyed malt, stone fruit, gentle peat and a pinch of sea salt. The finish is long, with dark toffee, spice and a mineral, maritime edge.
