Oban The Soul of Calypso is an 11 year old Highland single malt from the 2023 Special Release, bottled at natural cask strength. The Malt Master took inspiration from the merging of rhythms in calypso and finished it in Caribbean Pot Still rum casks.
The rum casks add sugar cane and mango to the blend of Highland and Island styles that Oban is known for. The nose is faintly maritime, with sea breeze, seaweed and a hint of iodine behind lemon citrus. The palate is smooth, fruity and lightly salty, balanced by spice, and the finish is quite short and spicy.
