Oban Natural Cask Strength is a 10 year old Highlands single malt in a 750ml bottle. It is matured in refill casks, then selectively finished in newly charred American oak barrels freshly seasoned with Oloroso sherry, which brings baked apple and sea-salted vanilla. The charred oak adds a spiced fragrance of nutmeg, cinnamon and clove.
The nose is fresh and maritime, with sea air, salt and seaweed giving way to light oak, vanilla, dried herbs and sherried fruit, over a faint thread of smoke. The palate is thick and creamy, with orange, lemon, vanilla, a pinch of salt and gentle peppery spice. The finish is medium in length and ends in warm spice.
