Oban – Distiller's Edition 2023 (43%)

A Highland single malt from Oban, the 2023 Distiller's Edition, bottled at 86 proof. The whisky is first matured in refill American oak and European oak casks. It is then finished in re-charred American oak casks that were seasoned with Montilla Fino, with heavily re-charred new American oak ends. That second maturation brings a Spanish influence to the coastal character of the distillery. The nose is salty and sea-like, with smoke and spice. Grape, sea salt and white pepper lead the palate, followed by a sweet-smoky, dry finish.
