Octomore 16.1 is a heavily peated Islay single malt from Bruichladdich Distillery, bottled at cask strength of 59.3% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition.
It was distilled from 100% Scottish Concerto barley, malted to 101.4 PPM, and matured for 5 years in first-fill bourbon barrels.
The nose is intense, with peat smoke, malt, sea breeze, apples, dried flowers and almond. The palate has an oily texture, opening with peat and smoke, then toffee, vanilla, mineral notes and cinnamon. The finish is long, with peat smoke and pepper.
