This Octomore is a UK-exclusive single cask, matured for 9 years, where most of the regular Octomore expressions are matured for just 5. It was distilled in 2016 from heavily peated malt at 137.3 PPM.
The whisky matured in a first-fill bourbon cask and is bottled at 61.6% ABV.
The nose opens with peated malt and burnt heather, softening into barley flour and floral notes of geranium, rose and honeysuckle. The palate is viscous, with vanilla, tablet, fudge, custard, marzipan and toffee, balanced by oak, leather, coconut, and tropical and stone fruits. The finish is long and warming, with peat, burnt heather, cinnamon, aniseed and nutmeg.
