Old Ballantruan 15 Year Old is the peated line from Tomintoul distillery, bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle.
Big peat smoke rolls around the mouth alongside softer Speyside flavours of vanilla, toffee and a touch of woodiness.
The nose is a gentle peat-reek with mild gun-flint notes, softened by sweet, creamy malt and hints of herbal, heathery spice. The smoke is clear on the palate yet soft, tempered by toffee sweetness and gentle oaky spice. The finish is very long.
