Old Ballantruan (70cl, 50%)

Old Ballantruan is a heavily peated Speyside single malt from the Tomintoul Distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 50% ABV. It is made from strongly peated malted barley and water from the Ballantruan Spring, which gave the whisky its name, and matured in ex-bourbon barrels of American oak. It is bottled without chill-filtration or added colour. Bonfire smoke meets floral, fruity and creamy impressions. On the nose, heathery smoke sits with delicate floral notes. The palate is gentle peat smoke with fine citrus, malt and nuts. In the finish, smoke and peat linger, with a light sweetness of malted barley.
