Old Ballantruan Peated Speyside Single Malt (50%)

Old Ballantruan Peated is a Speyside single malt distilled at Tomintoul and bottled at 50% ABV without chill-filtration. It is a smoky whisky from a region better known for lighter styles, with a peat level of 55 ppm. It matures in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and sherry hogsheads. The name comes from the Ballantruan Spring. The nose offers heather smoke with delicate floral notes. The palate has a gentle peat reek with hints of citrus and a creamy, nutty maltiness. The finish is long, with lingering smoke, peat and a rounded sweetness from the malted barley.
