Old Ballantruan The Peated Malt 10 Years Old (70cl, 50%)

Old Ballantruan The Peated Malt is a 10 year old Speyside single malt from the Tomintoul distillery, bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is made from heavily peated malt and water from the Ballantruan Spring, which gives the whisky its name, and it matures in ex-bourbon casks of American oak. It is not chill-filtered. The nose brings heathery smoke with subtle floral notes. The palate has gentle peat, a touch of citrus and malty nuttiness, and the finish keeps smoke and peat with a little malty sweetness.
