Old Forester 1910 Old Fine Whisky is a Kentucky straight bourbon, the fourth release in the Whiskey Row Series. It recalls a 1910 bottling line breakdown at the original Old Forester operation in Louisville, when owner Owsley Brown had a fully matured batch re-barrelled into a second freshly charred new oak barrel. He kept the result as his personal stock and called it Old Fine Whisky.
The modern release repeats that double barrel process on the standard Old Forester mash bill of 72 percent corn, 18 percent rye and 10 percent malted barley. It is bottled at 93 proof (46.5%).
The nose brings cinnamon imperials, dark caramel, candied fruit and honey-roasted nuts. The palate is full bodied, with milk chocolate, toffee and candied apple, and the finish is long, with oak, caramel and cinnamon.
