This is a 10 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Old Forester, the 2020 release of its annual Birthday Bourbon, in a 750ml bottle at 98 proof (49%). The series marks the 2 September birthday of founder George Garvin Brown.
The bourbon was barreled in 2010 and bottled in 2020. Each year's release is made from a different batch of barrels.
The nose has caramelised sugar, toasted oak, dark fruit and warm baking spice. The palate brings vanilla, molasses, chocolate, mature oak and a little spice. The finish is long, with lingering sweetness and seasoned oak.
