Old Forester is a rye-rich Kentucky straight bourbon, here in a 750ml bottle. It was the first bourbon sold in America in sealed glass bottles, a step taken to stop tampering with the recipe, and it first appeared on shelves in 1870.
The nose has orange blossom and cedar, followed by rye bread warmth and a lingering note of buttered pancakes. The palate starts sweet with caramel and maple syrup, then turns oaky with hints of pine resin. The finish brings juicy orange and spicy oak.
