Old Kempton – Solera Cask Tasmania Single Malt (50cl, 49%)

Old Kempton Solera Cask is a Tasmanian single malt bottled at 49% in a 50cl bottle. It is drawn from a Portuguese solera tun filled with a selection of Old Kempton whisky and left to mellow. Half of the tun's contents are decanted and bottled each time, and the tun is then refilled, so every release comes from the same ongoing vatting. The nose brings dried fruits, cherries, toffee, malt, vanilla and gentle oak. The palate is rich and complex, with a texture likened to milk chocolate with an alcoholic cream centre. The finish is warm and long, with dark fruit and nut chocolate, spice and toasted oak.
