Old Kempton – The Coachhouse Cask Strength (50cl, 60%)

The Coachhouse Cask Strength is a Tasmanian whisky from Old Kempton, bottled at 60%. It is named for the coach house at Dysart House, where the distillery was based until the new distillery building was completed in 2021. It is a selection of casks from across the range, including Tasmanian Pinot Noir and Australian fortified wine casks, matched to balance bright fruit with rich malt. The nose has rich malt and fruit pastilles, then delicate florals and musk sticks. The palate is sweet, with stewed apple and spices. The finish is long and sweet, with jelly babies and gummy bears, then oak, mixed spices and orange peel.
