Old Potrero Straight Rye is an American rye whiskey aged for six years in new, handmade, charred American oak barrels. The staves are heated over a fire of oak chips so they can be bent into shape, and the barrel interior is charred.
In the glass it is deep amber with golden highlights. The nose brings caramel, vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is rich and spicy, with rye, cinnamon and a touch of honey, and the finish is long and warming with lingering spice.
