This is a 16 year old Old Pulteney single malt from the Highlands, a distillery bottling at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was developed for travel retail. The whisky matures first in American bourbon barrels and then receives a finish in Spanish oak casks. It contains no added colour.
The nose shows spicy fruit with honey and vanilla, plus fine notes of chocolate. The palate is full-bodied, with a strong Christmas cake character, a touch of fresh green apple and sweet toffee. The finish is long and velvety, recalling chocolate cake.
