Old Pulteney 18 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery in Wick, Caithness, in a 70cl bottle. It reflects the distillery's 'Maritime Malt' character.
The whisky was matured for 18 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and Spanish sherry casks.
The nose brings dried fruit, honeyed sweetness and a distinct coastal salinity over subtle oak spice. The palate is rich, with dark chocolate, vanilla and gentle warmth, balanced by a persistent maritime tang and hints of citrus. The finish is long, echoing the sweetness and salinity before ending in a dry, lightly spicy warmth.
